All new players for around the last 10 days see this page:

http://booty-master.com/welcome.php

Only once though. Just to get a first idea. Mainly to understand they got to follow the flashing icons.

I am thinking to add a system of MUST-DO actions (a must do tutorial) which will appear in a special page till it is done.

It will be like this:
1.-Read News
2.-Read Helpdesk
3.-Choose a specialty
4.-Spend at least 1 attribute point
5.-Buy an item from the black market
6.-Commit a very easy crime
7.-Train
8.-Apply to at least one gang
9.-View Players Market
10.Send a message
11.Receive a message
12.Join a gang
13.Send a mass message
14.Buy something from the black market
15.Apply for a job
16.Rent a house
17.Buy a treasure item
18.Gain a level
19.Sell an item
20.Sell an item at players market

(The order can be fixed)

These are 20 easy to do action in Booty Master. For every step the newcomer accomplishes, he will earn 100$

There will be specific description for each step.

I know, its a great idea. Gimme my fame points now.

That's not a bad idea Murzim.. but you have to wonder about the people that might lose interest doing that? I know personally that I'm the sort of person who likes to stumble around and learn a game on my own, maybe read a FAQ.. and any time a game tries to make me do a demo or step by step I close it. Maybe make it a feature but not mandatory? Incase some people don't want to go through it?

Yeah, for people like a21 and morningsun, put a really tiny, itsy, bitsy link at the bottom of the tutorial page like this:

"Skip this tutorial".

I got a better idea:

upon the completion of the tutorial, a special treasure item will be given as a reward...

Ive thought about this a few times now and ive got 2 more ideas.

Get a list of experienced volunteers and allow them to make a new gang and have their name include "trainer" in it.

Basically you (revenger) would get a list of volunteers, then you would make gangs of your choice equally dividing these trainers, lets say 30 people volunteered you can do 10 gangs of 3s. Each of these 3 people will be responsible for training a group of noobies. These noobies will automatically be sorted into a gang by following your tutorial. Each of these 3 trainers would of course be double squadding however, they will not be allowed to do crimes. Their main focus will be to help the newbs learn. After every month they can earn lets say 5 fame points for helping the noobies. This will both help the game and help give a player incentive. The best part of this is you can sort the trainers out in any gang u like so it will be even, and after a month or 2, they can regroup and make 10 more new gangs.

Or you allow gangs to have branches, share treasury/courier ect.

Actually that's a good idea. People always LOVE free treasure.

I'd say a combination of the ideas here.

Offer a bonus or reward for completing the tutorial AND we put together a list of "teachers" that will help new players learn the game.

But I don't think we need any more "training" gangs at the moment. Yours is great HTF.. and the larger gangs that have training-sub gangs, that's good also. But I know at least personally, I'd love to train new players but not if I have to leave my gang now to do it.

12.Join a gang
13.Send a mass message
20.Sell an item at players market

these steps seem.... well why would someone accept lvl1? from my experience most lvl1 stop playing and just do nothing,......
step 13-ever sought of flooding it will provoke?
step 20-this can take a LOOOOOOOOONG while before newbie gets his hands on something actually interesting

a21 u wouldnt have to leave your gang, you would be able to make a name like Trainer- A21 and this name would own the training gang. You wouldnt be able to do crimes on this name, but you could run the gang and help people
