When is a Gang Crime Not a Gang Crime?

Postby Chatelaine on Thu Jul 03, 2008 9:50 pm

As you all know, the pop-up window right before you commit to scheduling a Gang Crime says:

"A gang crime last for 3 days till the required number of people chooses it. If the needed number of persons have not picked it by then, the crime is lost".

However, people go solo on Gang Crimes. Many of the good-looking ones succeed! ;)

I am assuming that on Day 3, the "Gang Crime" goes off regardless of the number who've signed on. If that is true, then what is wrong, the instructions in the box, or the program for what should happen?

Hope I've worded this okay, and I would appreciate insight about this. Thanks!

I thought if you made it a gang crime (versus choosing to do a gang crime solo) it won't occur if enough people haven't signed up within the time alloted? Or did I miss the point?

This, what?

Are you saying that there is an option to play out a Gang Crime as a solo? I have not seen that menu choice. Perhaps someone would be so kind as to point it out. If you play it solo, does the prohibition against taking Mobsters also go away?

it gives u 3 options, "nah lets not do this" "great lets do this" "create new gang crime"

so you can only bring mobsters with in non gang crimes

LOL...

Well, I will explain more of what was misleading me.
I remembered reading this in the Help Files:

"->If you create a gang crime, it will remain open for three days or till it is filled with the amount of people needed. Then the gang crime will be ready to take place during the daily update. This means that you can do a gang crime with fewer people than it initially requires, simply by waiting 3 days."

This left me thinking that the ONLY way to go solo on a Gang Crime was to start it yourself, and wait 3 days. Maybe there needs to be some rewriting of the help files.

So- In one place it tells you an unfilled Gang Crime will be "lost", and in another it tells you that the crime will go forward after 3 days, regardless of the number of players. Which is true, please? What happens if a 6-person crime only has 4 persons enrolled after the 3 days?

if you program a gang crime, you have 3 days to complete it. if you don't, it will be like doing it solo. That means that if you have the correct items/specialties you will succeed. it is very unlikely to succeed though.
