Major New Feature: Gang Wonders

This is in fact an old idea. It muust have been lost with the old forums or simply it was never mentioned in public.

The idea in general includes a number of available facilities/upgrades (or simply named as wonders) which will be available to the gangs. They will be purchased for a standard sum which will double every time one wonder is purchased. Up to 3 wonders perhaps will be the maximum selection.

Now, some common examples could be 10% more cash from crimes or 10% more xp or 10% specialization boost, or 10-20% cost deduction in upgrading secondary statitics etc. There could be wonder also affecting rob another player features or mob costs-cuts etc. We can also have wonders that are needed for specific industries.

I know some may find the idea bad for solo players but the game is intended to be multiplayer. We might create a solo server some time afterwards for those that want to go solo. Before this can happen, the rob another player feature will need to be perfected.

Finally, you need to know that gang wonders are integral part of the game future (you must have noticed an open space in the table in manage gang. This was destined for the gang wonders as they would be released alongside with the full game but there was simply not enough time.

You may suggest type of wonders. Here is a full way to do it in a nice, structured way:

Wonder name: Cash Laundry Network
Building Costs: 250 Millions $
Building Item Needs: Nothing (Or perhaps a basketball or football team ? ;)
Daily update cost: 50.000$
Affect: +10% Cash from every crime each gang member does.
Description:
Cash Laundry network is in fact a series of paid person who work together in order to cover the "dirty" money generated from illegal activity. It costs a lot to find the right persons, setup the needed legal enterprises and buy whatever other buildings needed. Also, money for its construction are spent to find the right persons to do the job while also some are spent for the right briberies to the right persons. The cleared cash generated from the whole business is a lot but since the whole system needs much in order to function, the final earnings are around 10% of the initial ammount. Finally there is a daily update cost of $50 000 as these are used to cover the clear steady costs such as rents of the buildings. The people working on it are getting paid through the dirty money so this is not an issue for you.

Way to go then. The more choices, the better. Also, this can be a good way to spend the gang money. ;)

Gang Wonder ideas shortlist so far:
1.Cash Laundry Network -> +10% Cash from every crime each gang member does.
2.Gang Security Plan -> +10% increase in all defense systems against robberies for each member.
3.Gang Security Network (Upgrade to Gang Security Plan) -> +10% in all defense systems against up to 1 specific gang.
4.Hideout -> -10% to cost of Wanted level for entire gang.
5.Thieves Den (Upgrade to Hideout) -> - 10% of cost to Morale,Stamina for entire gang.
6.Underground Complex (Upgrade to Thieves Den) -> -10% of cost to Stealh,Health
7.On-call Doctor -> Gang members who would otherwise normally die, will instead loss all experience gained for that level.
8.The Fence -> Items sold to Black Market for 60% of base cost instead of 50%
9.The Specialist -> One extra specific specialty (chosen at wonder construction, once) available during rob another player.
10.Numbers Game -> +1-10% (Random) increase of total amount of cash in gang treasury.
11.House Security Company -> No cut fee applies to mobsters which guard the house.
12.Training Grounds -> No cut fee applies to mobsters on training.
13.Academy -> No cut fee applies to mobsters on sale.
14.Extreme Specialization -> Members with the specific specialty (chosen at wonder construction, once) receive 10-20% (random) boost to their affect.
15.Merchant Masters -> All items sold through players market, generate an extra 5% profit.
16.Underground Storage Pits - Storage fees applies at 50 items instead of 20.
17.Bootyland History Lessons- +10% xp from each crime

Btw, to sweeten the pot in regard with suggestions as I see you are not as hot as I am on these right now, fame rewards will be lucrative for ideas that will be used while I will also reward fame points for general activity. These fame points awards will happen AFTER the "update season" ends. This is to ensure that I am not distracted with rewarding while coding.

Building Costs: 50 Millions $
Building Item Needs: 5 Gang members with Organization skill, 5 Gang members with Persuasion skill, 2 Gang members with Martial Arts skill. (Skills may overlap between players, i.e. if a gang member had a Organization, Persuasion and Martial Arts skillset, that person would fill 3 of the required 12 specialties.)
Daily update cost: 200.000$
Effect: +1-10% (Random) increase of total amount of cash in gang treasury.
Description:
One of the oldest methods crime families have used to acquire fame and fortune. It's going to require a good bit of organization to ensure you keep track of all the bets, and money, coming in and it's always a fair bet (HAH!) that you'll need to bust a few knee caps or scare a few lazy bums into paying up. This enterprise costs quite a bit to get up and running as your gang will need to bribe officials, referee's and other folks to ensure that competitions end in your favor. But once things are up and running, you'll just need to ensure you have a decent overhead to cover any unexpected losses.

Wonder Name: Casino (Upgrade to Numbers Game)
Building Costs: 500 Millions $
Building Item Needs: Numbers Game + 10 Gang members with Organization skill, 5 Gang members with Persuasion skill, 5 Gang members with Acrobats skill, 3 Gang members with Weapons skill. (Again, skills may overlap. Total # of skills IS NOT in addition to Numbers Game.)
Daily update cost: 500,000 $
Effect: +10-25% (Random) increase of total amount of cash in gang treasury.
Description:
Having proven you can successfully run the numbers, you've decided it's time to move up to the big leagues...Las Bootyland! Crooked dealers dexterously dealing from the bottom of the deck, magnets in the roulette wheel, and oh the sweet sight of lil' old ladies sitting in front of your rigged slot machines dutifully pumping quarters in one after the other. Just make sure you keep track of where all that cash is going and it certainly wouldn't hurt to have some extra muscle in plain sight to deter anyone trying to cheat a cheater.

Wonder Name: Hideout
Building Costs: 50 Millions $
Building Item Needs: 1 Proof: Snitch Payment per 5 Gang members, 1 Deluxe Massage Jacuzzi
Daily update cost: 200,000$
Effect: -10% to cost of Wanted level for entire gang.
Description:
Every crook needs a place to lay low for awhile and this place has it all. Heavy drapes so folks can't see inside, carefully concealed doors, and even a nice jacuzzi to relax in! Course, you'll have to bribe that no-good snitch to keep him from telling the cops just where your hideout is located.

Wonder Name: Thieves Den (Upgrade to Hideout)
Building Costs: 250 Millions $
Building Items Needs: Hideout + 5 Gang members w/ Luxurious Palaces + 1 Proof: Snitch Payment per 5 Gang members.
Daily update cost: 250,000 $
Effect: Same as Hideout + - 10% of cost to Morale for entire gang.
Description:
Why sit cooped up in some stuffy old apartment that reeks of stale cigar smoke when you can hide in style? That's just what this place has to offer, fully stocked bar, PES 6 PC Games and even a cute lil thing to bring you a big plate of meatballs whenever you're hungry. Just don't go flappin' ya jaws all over Bootyland, otherwise all that money you paid to that snitch Johnny will have gone to waste.

Wonder Name: Underground Complex (Upgrade to Thieves Den)
Building Costs: 500 Millions $
Building Item Needs: Thieves Den + 10 Gang members w/Luxurious Palaces
Daily update cost: 500,000$
Effect: Same as Hideout and Thieves Den + Gang members allowed to designate up to 5 small TREASURE items (no personal jets, private marinas, basketball teams, etc) to be stored offering +75% protection from anyone trying to steal said item.
Description:
While all the common folks gaze upon your luxurious palace in awe, you can sit back and enjoy a nice scotch knowing that they have no clue what treasures you and your fellow cronies have stored in a vast underground complex below their feet. Stroll the lushly carpeted corridors in full peace of mind knowing that your paintings and other valuables are virtually impervious to all but the most daring and skilled thieves.

Building Item Needs: Personal Helicopter + Hideout (or any upgrade of Hideout)
Daily update cost: 250,000 $ + 1 Million $ per use.
Effect: Gang members who would otherwise normally die, will instead loss all experience gained for that level. (i.e. Someone at level 20 with 9786 experience will be at level 20 with 0 experience)
Description:
It's always a good idea to have a skilled surgeon on your gang payroll. You never know when someone is going to try muscling in on your turf and the sooner you can get back out there and run them off, the sooner you can get back to making cash. Just make sure you are able to transport the victim to the doctor as quickly as possible if you want him to live. It'd also be a good idea to have a nice safe place for the doctor to work, otherwise the cops might start asking to many questions.

I think I would call them Gang perks instead of Gang wonders. It just has a better ring to it. When you say wonder it brings to mind the Great pyramid of Giza or the Hanging gardens of Babylon.

Also, I like Gordd's idea of tying the perks to treasure items like the personal helicopter or other treasure items. This will make the competition for treasure items more intense.

Lastly, I would make any effects of the Gang perks only affect gang activities, not solo crimes. So, in effect, cash earned from a solo crime would not be affected but cash earned from a gang activity would increase. I don't know why I say this but it just makes more sense.

Daily update cost: 250,000$
Effect: Items sold to Black Market for 75% of base cost instead of 50%, but random delay (1-12 hours) on when cash is available. Gang members would still have the option of selling directly to Black Market for quick cash.
Description:
Every good crime organization should know someone who can get them a good price on stolen goods. That's where "The Fence" comes in, he'll take all your gold bars, stolen cars and other ill-gotten goods and sell them for you through his network of unquestioning businesses. Course, it's going to take him some time to get the best prices so you'll have to be patient.
